The primary mission of the Moroccan National Tourist Office as a government body is to promote Morocco as an attractive and appealing tourism destination overseas.
The aim however, is not only to encourage tourists to visit Morocco but also to demonstrate the country's spectacular wealth in terms of tourism potentials which makes it very unique from other tourism destinations. The variety of its landscape, cultural heritage, desert mountains combined with both the Atlantic and the Mediterranean makes it a unique and memorable place for millions of visitors who keep coming back every year. Morocco will be showing them offer for incentive tourism for the EIBTM`s guests. Morocco has decided for development of the tourism and for that reason Moroccan authorities have fixed ambitious objectives. The new plan of development has prediction the construction of 80.000 new rooms to welcome, in 2010, 10.000.000 of tourists, which provides great opportunities for the investors, to national and international levels and, particularly for the Spanish companies. Located in the western of Africa, Morocco belongs simultaneously to the oceanic surroundings, the Mediterranean world and the Saharan territory. Only a strait of 14 km separates Morocco from Europe. For that reason, it constitutes in a crossroad between East and West. The proximity to Europe, first emitting market of tourists of the world, natural diversity, legendary hospitality, multi centenary cultural patrimony, the gastronomy worldwide recognized, and the temperate climate are the structural comparative advantages that very hard confer to Morocco destination competitiveness. With those triumphs, the tourism in Morocco has being considered from the sixties a high-priority sector of the national economy. The State has animated development of this activity allowing the appearing of a real tourist industry.
