Steven Alan Showroom à Project Las Vegas 2007 August
SAS was launched in 1996 in response to a need for representation of smaller and independent designers. The showroom has evolved into a major force in the young designer market, representing an impressive group of designers and maintaining its commitment to discovering and developing new talent. For Steven Alan Spring 2008, Steven has enhanced the men’s collection in many ways by adding new twist while exploring new and unique details on his signature styles. In his travels to Japan, he has a sourced a double faced gauze Japanese cotton which is perfect for hot summer weather. He has taken classic oxford cloth shirting in plaids and stripes and stone washed it, giving it a softer and more wearable weight and texture. The classic shirting fabrics which return each season are still in abundance with some of them in a new finer gauge 100's 2 ply cotton. Each of these fabrics gives the signature shirts a new look, but with the original fit and styling are always unmistakably Steven Alan. There are also pants, shorts, and a perfectly tailored jacket in new twill he has sourced. Made up of dual colored threads, the fabric wears in amazingly after breaking in and stonewashing, giving it a fresh and new look.
