Young Underwear discovers Düsseldorf

BODY LOOK, Germany’s only International Trade Fair for Body ,Beach and Legwear, scores Points with New Young Underwear Labels

On its website the firm Ginch Gonch is spreading the self-confident claim of being the “world’s hottest and youngest underwear company”. And there can certainly be no doubt that this Canadian label now also boasts a considerable base of enthusiastic fans in Europe. So much the better the label is now be found at the forthcoming BODY LOOK (4 to 6 February 2007) in Düsseldorf. Those wishing to whet their customers’ appetites with men’s and women’s underwear in tongue-incheek cowboy looks or wanting to pep up their range with cheeky patterns like blue stars on pink stripes are sure to find what they are looking for here.
Another relatively new name is Berlin’s Mangold label. Founded in Summer 2005, Katrin Brandt and Nadja Törl started out designing men’s outerwear which they then complemented for the 2005/06 season with an underwear collection.
Mangold stands for high-quality and skin-friendly materials in conjunction with practical design, great style, personality and wear comfort. The two designers very consciously focus on sustainability – which mean the materials used are without exception locally sourced German products. Furthermore, the Mangold collections are designed and manufactured entirely in Berlin.
A further highlight at BODY LOOK are T-shirts for children and their mums by “Louis & Louisa“ featured at the Claudia Rüdinger stand. With their comic motifs the styles (designed incidentally by Barbara Herzsprung, wife of the actor Bernd Herzsprung) they have prompted a great deal of positive coverage in the press.
Commenting on these newcomers Project Manager Sabine Schommer said: “Participation by these young brands is an extremely positive sign. Ginch Gonch, Mangold and Louis & Louisa will enhance BODY LOOK. We are confident we will be seeing growth in the young segment in future.“
