Cevisama pays tribute to exhibitors of first 25 years

Just a few hours before the 25th CEVISAMA closed last Saturday, the Indistile and Bãneo prizes and the Alfa de Oro Awards were presented to the winners in Indi Plaza. The ceremony was brought to a close with a tribute to the companies that have exhibited at every CEVISAMA for the last 25 years, to the organisations and institutions that have supported the event and to the people who have worked on it throughout its history.

CEVISAMA's president, Armando Ibáñez, opened the ceremony with a brief address in which he thanked companies and designers for taking part in the competitions and the exhibitors that "are celebrating 25 years of fascinating adventure with us today, for having been pioneers, for having taken a risk and for having trusted in CEVISAMA from its very first murmurings.  Today, thanks to you, we have the best exhibition in the world.  An exhibition where the cutting edge, innovation and the most revolutionary applications are all to be found together.  With you we have achieved something extraordinarily important: an exhibition of ideas, of creativity and of limitless possibilities."

After the winners of the Indistile and Bãneo Competitions and the Alfa de Oro Awards were presented with their prizes, a tribute was paid to "the companies and institutions that have contributed the most important things of all:  ideas, initiatives and projects that we have made a reality.  This reality."

Three of those being honoured were Feria Valencia employees - José Vicente Comes, Alicia Gamero and Amparo Torrella ? who "have worked for CEVISAMA for all these 25 years with absolute loyalty and, with a willingness that has known no bounds, have devoted their lives to the exhibition."

The ceremony closed with the presentation by the Spanish Ceramic and Glass Society of a work of art specially designed for CEVISAMA to commemorate the event's 25th Anniversary.

CEVISAMA Indi SUCCESS

As CEVISAMA closed the results in terms of both visitor numbers and quality of visitors were looking excellent, with the latest advances in architectural ceramics and bathroom furnishings set to be made known around the world.

The importance of the event as a focal point for disseminating ideas is reflected in the impact of the Architecture and Design Workshops that were part of the CEVISAMA Indi programme.  The function room in which the six lectures on architecture, interior and other design were given was full to capacity each time.  The lectures were given by architects Enrique Sobejano, Carlos Meri and Teresa Sapey; interior designer Lluis Pau and designers Francesc Aragall and Gijs Bakker.
