Fitness'07 earns a high rating from professionals

FITNESS´07 once again confirmed its status as an important European event for the gym and fitness industry at its eleventh edition, which took place between 26th and 29th April. The fair brought together the latest innovations in machinery, equipment and products aimed at promoting body fitness, well-being and health, attracting a total of 16,895 professionals and fans throughout its five-day duration and confirming its role as an outstanding professional forum.

Throughout a varied exhibition measuring some 11,000 square metres, the gym industry's leading showcase presented the latest advances in equipment and technology for sports facilities through the participation of 177 exhibiting companies. The leading companies from the industry revealed a high degree of satisfaction at the contacts they were able to establish at the fair, highlighting the stature of the visitors at the event and their strong decision-making power with regard to the placement of orders and purchases.

The general public once again revealed a considerable degree of interest in the new and wide-ranging selection of products and services on show at the fair. The most popular segments among visitors were as follows: dietetics (13%), equipment for facilities (12%), training (12%), machinery and accessories (10%), as well as fashion and accessories. With regard to the event's sphere of influence, the figures also confirm the fact that FITNESS attracts visitors from all over Spain. After Madrid, the highest attendance rates recorded corresponded to visitors from the Spanish Regions of Castile-La Mancha, Castile-León and Andalusia, followed by Valencia and Catalonia.

Trends Forum
New features ranging from the latest-generation personal training machinery to the most revolutionary cardiovascular, isotonic and muscle-building apparatus, not to mention the latest multi-stations and vibrating platforms, played a prominent role at this edition of the fair, confirming the event's capacity to serve as a showcase for the most recent trends. Furthermore, FITNESS offered visitors the fashion lines that will enable them to sport the latest look in the gym, along with an extensive variety of accessories and machinery for exercising at home.

The fair also boosted the development of the industry through the participation of a number of leading companies that operate within the fields of computer technology, access control, software and the latest systems and technologies applied to the gym industry. The exhibition was completed by the most recent ideas in urban spas, the latest diet and nutrition products and the most innovative beauty and bronzing equipment.

Strong Public Participation in the Coinciding Activities
FITNESS was once again the setting chosen for the staging of an attractive programme of activities, which was warmly received by all kinds of fitness enthusiasts. A number of mass activities such as the Fifth Step Marathon, the Grand National Final of the Funk Lag League and the Fourth Madrid Odyssey, the largest national indoor cycling endurance trial, were all packed out.

A considerable degree of expectation and high levels of participation were also witnessed at the classes focusing on the latest types of aerobic activity, such as Tae Boxing, Funk Your Street Dance, Gym Dance, Step, Latino and Salsa Tribal House, as well as all the master classes relating to gym fitness exercises: Pilates with Bossu, Fit Ball, Matwork, Total Body Stretching, Wu Shu and diverse relaxation and meditation techniques. The latest versions of Oriental techniques such as Stott Pilates, Body Mind Yoga, Gyrokinesis and Extreme Balance & Core were presented by experts who enjoy wide-ranging international recognition, such as P.J. O'Clair, at this, the main business forum for the gym and fitness industry.
