GDS 2007 to kick off with New Segments

White Cubes’ was just the beginning. After the sparkling premiere of the premium high fashion shoes and accessories segment at the 102nd GDS last September, GDS 2007 will now be kicking off with three more new segments.

With its sections ‘prime square’ ‘concept 10’ and ‘kidwalk’ GDS is set to further sharpen its profile as an international information and orders platform. The three segments will make it easier for trade buyers from throughout the world to find their way around the exhibition centre and it will offer exhibitors the chance to really make a ‘splash’ on the market.
The new concept area ‘prime square’ in Hall 9 will be host to exhibitors of high-quality brands presenting their classically elegant and highly sophisticated shoe fashions in stylish, harmonised surroundings. The organiser Messe Düsseldorf offers its customers contemporary stand architecture and comprehensive service as a central provider while creating the necessary freedom for the individual presentation of each brand. The prime square lounge harmoniously rounds off the exclusive atmosphere. Many order negotiations can be continued here in a relaxed setting over sushi or a glass of prosecco. The concept will be implemented by the renowned Düsseldorf design bureau Schwitzke & Partner. Commenting on the new move Project Manager Kirstin Deutelmoser said: “With the new ‘prime square’ concept we create the best prerequisites for our exhibitors to present themselves cost-efficiently yet in quality surroundings at a top location at GDS thanks our interesting packages.” A comprehensive and full range of services for exhibitors in the International Selection segment is offered by the new area ‘concept 10’ in Hall 10. International Selection exhibitors, for whom participation at GDS needs to be straightforward but still cost-efficient, have come to the right place at ‘concept 10’: the package price includes stand rental (at 18, 24 or 36 m2), high-quality stand construction, lighting, electricity, stand furnishings, exhibitor and car park passes, 100 admission tickets for customers, inclusion of ‘concept 10’ in the press releases and online communication of GDS and much more besides. A bar area rounds off the range. Commenting on this Kirstin Deutelmoser said: “At a price of € 249 per square metre we offer exhibitors really great value for money. We take care of everything for customers during the exhibition allowing them to concentrate fully on business. No wonder exhibitors are responding so well to ‘concept 10’.” As the third newcomer to the bunch children will now be getting their own unmistakeable forum in the ‘kidwalk’ section: with its innovative and authentic design ‘kidwalk’ offers all manufacturers of children’s shoes a perfect presentation platform in Hall 10. The open zoned design, the fresh shapes and colours and the joint communication area with catering, Internet terminals and a children’s shoe exhibition provide a friendly atmosphere here. Commenting on this Kirstin Deutelmoser said: “Using clearly structured segmentation, uniform branding and professional marketing we will be highlighting the kids’ community more strongly this time. After all, GDS’ great strength is its full range from top priced ladies’ shoes down to footwear for the youngest amongst us.” The 103rd GDS – The Premier Shoe Event runs concurrently with the leather goods fair GLS from 9 to 11 March 2007 at Düsseldorf exhibition centre. Organiser Messe Düsseldorf anticipates 1.400 exhibitors.
