HMD – Menswear Düsseldorf under the Roof of the Igedo Fashion Fairs

Düsseldorf from 4 to 6 February 2007 Germany’s only International Menswear Platform HMD – Herrenmode Düsseldorf, Germany’s only international order platform for the menswear market, will be presenting itself to the trade audience from 4 to 6 February 2007 with 100 exhibitors under the roof of the Igedo Fashion Fairs Düsseldorf.

These dates at the end of the information cycle for Autumn/Winter 2007/08 guarantee the international trade audience clearly crystallised trends.
Already last season numerous full-range suppliers took advantage of the synergy effects of the four parallel fairs (CPD for Womenswear, Body Look for Lingerie and Beachwear plus the sourcing fair Global Fashion). International export customers come to Düsseldorf to purchase their entire range at one time and place. Support across the entire sector for the location of Düsseldorf as a hub for the international
fashion business is further affirmation for HMD.
”Opting for an independent fair for the menswear market was and is the right decision. Showcasing it on its own independent platform guarantees segmentspecific presentation in an attractive environment with strong competing firms enabling them to approach new customers in the export sector and also ensuring useful synergy effects via the affiliated fairs at the exhibition centre,“ explained
Wolfgang May, Head of Domestic Fashion Fairs at the Igedo Company. Attendance by strong German market-leaders underlines the need for a central German menswear fair. Confirming this view Marco Lanowy, Managing Director of the Mönchengladbach men’s trouser specialist Alberto, said: “We support the trade fair location of Düsseldorf. We can only properly meet the constant rise in foreign demand on an international platform like HMD. Our experiences at the last round of fairs on the Rhine left us with very positive impressions .“
The firm Greystone is now back at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre after four seasons’ absence. “The key role of the location of Düsseldorf was something we never questioned. To be able to operate internationally we also saw the need for our presence at HMD. We are interested in growth and globalisation and our participation is a new move in this direction,” explains Marc Voss, Managing Director of Greystone Textilhandelgesellschaft mbH.
New Entrance for HMD at Eingang Nord
With its new entrance at Eingang Nord/Entrance North and a new look HMD will be presenting itself in Hall 7.0 and 5 to both the specialist retail trade and full-range suppliers. Firms like Alberto, Allsize, Breidhof, Brühl, Ferkinghoff, King’s Road, Lloyd, Morgano, Haupt, Maselli, Navigare, Mode Monte Carlo, Torras, Meyer Hosen and Venturo have opted to appear at HMD. Newcomers here include suppliers like Jeep,
Florentino, Canson, Dressmaster with ‘Stones’, Koffski, Greenhaven, Greystone, Tadon, HP. Rössler, J&K, MG Fashion and Losan. Galleria Uomo in Hall 7.0 provides an elegant setting and a purist hall layout for brands in the higher price range like Angelo Nardelli, Ciesseffe, Ganz, Laco, Lord Spencer, Mario Gravati, President and Ragusa. The open-plan stands all in white offer a versatile space for individual presentation of each firm’s corporate design.
Compact and Concentrated for the International Trade Audience HMD offers the retail trade a very special service: at the Trend Forum specially
designed in collaboration with the German Fashion Institute – DMI – Order Information will summarise all the trends crystallising over the last few weeks in the run-up to the fair. This means HMD will provide the highest concentration of information for the coming season. The trend booklet sums up the decisive, sure-fire information for the orders business. On the catwalk menswear developments can be reviewed in a unique show on the Sunday of the fair, 4 February, at 10.00 am in the Fashion Theatre in Hall 12.
The Igedo Fashion Fairs Düsseldorf will present a total of 1,825 exhibitors from 52 countries in the exhibition halls and at Düsseldorf Fashion Houses 1 + 2
