Hostelco ratifies its leadership on ocassion of its 25th anniversary

The 13th Hostelco, Hotel, Restaurant and Group Catering Equipment Show, will be held from the 21st to the 25th of October 2006. According to current booking figures, Hostelco has already received 80% of applications for exhibition space, 14% more than for the same period in 2004. Forecasts indicate that, for the third consecutive time, the trade fair will occupy the whole of Fira de Barcelona’s Montjuïc exhibition centre, featuring the products of practically all leading companies in the sector.

The next show also coincides with the 25th anniversary of this event, which was founded a quarter of a century ago, during which time it has become one of the key elements in the development of the industries it represents, reflecting at all times the changes to them and responding to their needs.  

25 years and 12 shows later, Hostelco is today the leading hotel and catering show in Spain and the second most important in Europe. Its major growth has been proportional to the industrial segments it serves. It is also a platform for the new market trends on an international level. 

The first Hostelco dates back to 1981, when it took over from Hogarotel which was inaugurated in 1962 and featured hotel, catering and home decoration. From the beginning, Hostelco established a biennial frequency which it still maintains. It showcases the most innovative products and services in the following sectors: hotel and catering machinery and equipment: tableware; management, control, information technology and safety; textiles and uniforms; furniture and decoration; food and beverages for hotels, restaurants and group catering; EXPOLIMP: equipment and products for laundry, dry cleaning, hygiene and cleaning; vending and service companies.
