Visit London at Imex 2007 - stand F400

Exciting incentives, dynamic events, a larger stand, Engaging presentations and win a luxury stay in the uk capital

The latest developments in Visit London’s major meetings and events strategy will be revealed at IMEX on stand F400. Visit London will be showcasing its recent successes in attracting some key global events to London this year such as The Tour de France Grand Départ, the first-ever regular season NFL game outside of the Americas, the Live Earth concert and the Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs exhibition. Buyers and visitors can expect to experience a high level of interaction on the stand, with activity designed to inspire them about the many industry opportunities surrounding all of these dynamic events.

Destination presentations this year will also be different with the contribution of Mathias Haas, a German buyer who has planned successful events in London. Mathias will be the voice of the buyers and challenge Visit London with a Q&A session in front of the audience. He will present with Barbara Jamison, Visit London’s Sales Manager Europe and some of the stand partners for a more interactive and engaging approach.

Stand features will include:
Tour de France Race:
„nTwo bicycles on the stand connected to an interactive screen allowing people to ‘ride’ part of the Tour de France prologue route. People will be encouraged to race against each other or to ‘beat the clock’. There will be Tour de France prizes on offer as well as Maui Jim sunglasses, plus the overall winner will get to come to London during the Tour de France weekend in July.

Cocktail Hour:

Buyers and visitors will be encouraged to take a well-deserved break at the end of a busy day. They will be welcomed for a cocktail hour on Tuesday and Wednesday at 16:00, courtesy of The Barbican, with cocktail making demonstrations from the May Fair hotel’s mixologist.

Diamonds & Pearls Party:

Visit London will be hosting a special networking reception at Frankfurt’s famous Diamonds and Pearls bar.  The evening will be by invitation only. 

MPI PEC – Europe London 2008 – Major Competition for IMEX buyers:

London is to host its first Meeting Professionals International (MPI) Professional Education Conference-Europe in April 2008, which will take place just days prior to IMEX 2008. MPI members will be able to save costs by attending both events in one trip. Postcards, promoting MPI PEC-Europe, will be distributed at the Visit London and MPI stands as well as in the hosted buyer lounges and the press centre. The cards will feature a quiz element, with the winner being awarded a stay in a deluxe suite on the ExCeL London campus during MPI PEC-Europe next year.

Visit London’s Sales Manager Europe, Barbara Jamison, says: “We are delighted to have our own destination stand again this year and at 132sqm we will be one of the biggest cities, which in only our second year is a huge achievement. We will have over 20 stand partners showcasing the full, unique and diverse offering we have in London.”
