ITB Congress 2008 News : ITB Destination Themes
ITB Destination Themes: In today's issue, read more about the ITB Destination themes, which take place in hall 7.1a, auditorium New York 1, from 5 - 7 March, 2008. Learn about best practice in destination management and discuss with the panel guests.
5 March: The Dominican Republic, partner country of the ITB Berlin 2008, opens the destination themes from 1:30-3:00pm with a discussion on the "Development of Cruises in the Dominican Republic". Shortly after, the Latin America Forum on "Ecology and Social Responsibility in Tourism" takes place from 3:30-5:15pm. In the last session of the day, the ITB Science Prize by the DGT e.V. will be handed over.
6 March: From 10:15-11:45am experts discuss "Strategic Product Development and Climate Change" at the Progress in Tourism Research session. This year's Africa Forum, from 12:00-1:30pm, is all about "Zero Footprint". The 3rd FEMIP Conference on "Promoting Sustainable Tourism in the Mediterranean" with partner European Investment Bank takes place from 1:30-8:00pm. Participation is upon invitation only.
7 March: Up first, from 10:15-11:00am, is our Movie Tourism session. Together with ITB Berlin partner ADAC an expert panel discusses Automobile Tourism in Times of Climate Change from 11:15-01:00pm. A keynote and a panel discussion will be presented on the subject of Destinations as Mega-Projects, taking place from 01:30-2:45pm. From 3:00-4:00pm follows the World Economic Forum with a study on "Travel & Tourism Competitiveness". And last but not least, from 4:30-5:30pm, we present to you together with ITB Berlin partner Eurosport an expert panel on Sport Tourism.

ITB Business Travel Days Richard Quest will open ITB Business Travel Days with an introduction to the world of business travel from the view of a successful CNN correspondent. Be at the auditorium London 1 in hall 7.1b on 5 March at 1:00 p.m.. Further topics from 5 - 8 March will be Travel-, Fleet- and Event Management, Travel Safety, Environmental Responsibility, the current Labour Market in the Business Travel Sector and the compatibility of reducing costs and ensuring quality.
