Greater international presence at Iberflora’06
Foreign companies make up 35% of Iberflora exhibitors
The 35th Iberflora, which runs from 18th to 20th October, will see a greater number of exhibitors from outside Spain than ever before: 150 foreign companies will be taking part in the event - 35% of the total number of exhibitors. The countries being represented at this year’s Iberflora are Austria, Belgium, China, Costa Rica, Denmark, France, Great Britain, Greece, Holland, Italy, Portugal, Spain and the United States of America.
The Italian participation is particularly significant, as the transalpine country will be fielding 61 companies, with particularly strong contingents from the regions of Lazio, Pistoia and Sicily. In terms of numbers, the Dutch presence is especially strong, with 27 companies backed up by the considerable experience of the Flower Council of Holland. France will be represented by 13 companies, as will Germany, whilst Portugal will be presenting a united front consisting of the country’s leading companies. All these numbers are up on those for previous years.
Iberflora will be grouping all of its international Flower and Plant exhibitors in a single space, namely Level 3 of Pavilion 3. Visitors will thus be able to find all the international companies’ Flower and Plant product offers within a delimited area.
The international thrust of the exhibition will also be evident in the buyers who attend. As many as 46 different companies from countries including Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and the United kingdom will be visiting Iberflora as part of trade missions.
Costa Rica sets store by Iberflora as gateway to Europe
Following its positive experience last year, Costa Rica is back at Iberflora again, this time with the direct participation of some ten nurseries that have chosen the Spanish fair as the way of introducing their products into the European market.
These companies’ presence at Iberflora has been made possible thanks to CANEPLANTA (the National Chamber of Ornamental Plant Producers) and PROCOMER (Costa Rica’s foreign trade promotion board).
The Costa Rican companies will be located on stand C-6 within IBERFLORA’s Flowers and Plants Show on level 3 in pavilion 3.
Promoting the fair Internationally
As well as having a presence at many international events such as Lusflora (the Portuguese Nursery, Floriculture and Gardening Fair) in Lisbon and GLEE 2006 (the Gardening, Pet and Leisure Show), which is held in Birmingham, Iberflora has taken its international awareness campaign further this year and signed a number of agreements with the Chambers of Commerce of Belgium, France and Luxemburg whereby these Chambers committed to help promote the exhibition.
