InterCHARM 2005 reports results

Russian and the oldest edition of InterCHARM global beauty event closed the year for the brand on November 10–14 in Moscow Solokniki exhibition center.
The largest in Eastern and Central Europe trendsetting exhibition of the industry for the 12th time welcomed major and renowned product developers, makers, packaging manufacturers, retailers, distributors & wholesalers, suppliers of packaging & raw materials, importers and exporters, specialists in professional beauty, international decision makers together with innovative newcomers to explore the Russian and global perfumery & cosmetics market with its vast array of services, trends and product innovations. In 2005 InterCHARM kept the positions of the best marketplace to showcase novelties and tendencies in national and global beauty market, as well as position of a must attend international event for everyone in the industry, from suppliers to buyers. 733 market players from some 30 countries with a 30% share of participants from abroad displayed their best products and services on over 12 000 sqm for 93 500 professional visitors. According to organizer, ExpoMediaGroup Staraya Krepost, total exhibition area is estimated at 33 000 sqm. InterCHARM sheltered national pavilions of Bulgaria, France, Germany, Poland, USA, as well as country pavilions of Israel, Italy, Korea, and Taiwan. Argentina, Baltic States, Byelorussia, China, Croatia, Denmark, Greece, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Japan, Luxembourg, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, UK, UAE, Ukraine are among the rest markets represented. Meeting exhibitors expectation Exhibitors’ agendas at the show were filled with appointments with ‘tried and tested’ distributors as well as with new clients from challenging markets. Most of them already say they have achieved their goals for the event, and are happy with the quality of visitors, among which 90% were the decision makers like company owners, directors and senior managers as well as specialist in all beauty sectors from Russia and CIS countries, Eastern and Central Europe. This year we got quite a pleasant surprise – our efforts in product lines creation led to the Golden medal of InterCHARM. This exhibition is the only place where one can meet new clients, both – large companies and small ones, which are very important for us. Nobody knows when a newcomer becomes bigger and our task is to help it with the first steps. Last year we set up cooperation with Kalina concern. I think now InterCHARM is more focused on business, unlike many other shows are just for image. We will participate in 2006’s edition for sure and happy with the new logistics and accommodation of the new venue. Alexander Domov, Gamma Cosmetics At the moment we are signing a contract about joint venture with Gamma Chroma, and at the exhibition we were presented at one booth. Always participate in InterCHARM, today we are looking for the next year and have lots of expectation with clear exhibition segmentation, new logistics, new methods of work, restricted access to public, convenient dates and place – October 26-29 in the best Russian exhibition venue. The first one is the establishment of representative office in Moscow and the second is the launch of our new colour cosmetics brand in the Russian market. The company has been exporting its products to Russia for three years. Each year, after regarding the best-selling skus, the company supplied about 70% of its 2000 annual novelties in the local market. From now on, Markwins will widen assortment and launch promotion campaigns here simultaneously with Europe. I have been working in Russia for many years, cooperated with Hugo Boss, Cosmopolitan and many other well-known brands. InterCHARM for me is the main fair and the biggest event in the market. I know a lot of other trade fairs, but no other exhibition is so popular like this one. Despite calculating the results only after the event, already today I can say the fair ran very successfully. We made business with beauty salons, nail studious and hairdressers and are happy with the level of clients. They come to InterCHARM purposeful, with the knowledge of the brand, and strong will for cooperation. We also organized seminars, training events for specialists in nail service, so had the opportunity to meet the customers themselves, and supply them with the latest news and techniques. For my company this is the best place to meet all my dealers, find new partners and support the brand image in the market. We are anticipating for new opportunities, which Crocus Expo (the venue of InterCHARM 2006) will provide. Some people say it would be more logical for us to exhibit at INTERCHARM professional (April 20-22, 2006), but the competitive environment is severe and we want to use any opportunity and have as many contacts as possible, that's why we are at InterCHARM 2005.
