Over 75% of the exhibition space at EXPORT HOME - Furniture, Lighting and Household Goods for Export, has already been filled. Once again, and like the previous edition, the most representative companies and brands in the sector will be present, occupying the whole of the EXPONOR site (a total of 53 000 square metres) between the 28th of February and the 4th of March 2007.

EXPORT HOME is the only exhibition in Portugal that is exclusively dedicated to the professional market. Over the years, EXPONOR has been committed to investing in promoting the exhibition, not just in the internal market, but also in foreign markets which have a great potential. This year’s edition will include the active collaboration of APIMA – Portuguese Association of Furniture and Related Industries, following a protocol signed between the two entities last September.

António Proença, who has just joined the exhibition’s board of directors, reiterates the commitment to the exhibition’s key facets: the international promotion and export vocation of EXPORT HOME, together with an investment in the design and quality of Portuguese products. These factors make this exhibition the ideal place for sector professionals to ratchet up their business. “EXPORT HOME is already a successful “brand” at a national and international level which promotes the Portuguese furniture, lighting, upholstery and household products industry, geared towards the increasing internationalisation of the sector”, comments the director.

In the previous edition, the aims were met through an unrivalled presence of international buyers, from European countries (such as Spain, France, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Italy, Holland, Hungary, Germany, the Check Republic and Russia, among others), as well as from countries outside of Europe (such as the United Sates, Senegal, Korea, Cape Verde and Brazil).

“The importance of EXPORT HOME is recognised by sector professionals who continue, increasingly, to visit the fair and to place their orders here. It is in this direction that EXPONOR has been working”, adds António Proença, concluding that “the exhibition allows the acknowledged traditional character of Portuguese products to be combined with the development of new ideas and new techniques and the valorisation of design as an instrument for wellbeing and comfort. The 2007 edition will pursue these objectives”.
