Bright forecasts for Matelec 2006
The previous edition brought together 3,500 companies from the electrical and electronic material industry
IFEMA will stage a new edition - the thirteenth - of one of its largest fairs, MATELEC 2006, the International Electrical and Electronic Equipment Exhibition, the leading industrial fair in Spain and one of the most important events in the world within its field. The fair, that will take place between 24th and 28th October 2006 at Feria de Madrid, has aroused a considerable level of expectation in view of the favourable climate that currently exists within the building industry, especially infrastructures. This much can be learned from the indexes published by the OECD and the European Central Bank. MATELEC´s occupation of practically the entire IFEMA fairground marks the culmination of a process of development that was reflected by a participation level of 3,586 companies at the last edition of the fair in the year 2004, a figure that included 1,257 direct exhibitors. We might also highlight the net exhibition area of 64,882.5 square metres and the 71,883 trade visitors recorded at the last edition. Furthermore, among this large number of visitors, 229 were foreigners attending the fair from 25 different countries. These visitors included 101 different nationalities. These figures confirm the fair´s outstanding position on the international fair circuit. With this background, MATELEC will face its next edition with some optimism, trusting in the loyalty of the business sector and the main organizations representing the industry, both of which have once again lent their full backing to the event. In fact, the fair is currently carrying out an intensive marketing campaign for its exhibition space. The electrical and electronic material industry will once again present the latest technological advances within the following sectors: Electrical Energy, Electrical Installation Technology, Illumination and Lighting, Inter- and Telecommunications, and Industrial Electronics and Equipment. Visitors will also be able to visit the Sub-contracting Exhibition. The Sub-contracting Exhibition was created two years ago, making up for the fact that this segment of growing importance lacked any kind of trade forum. The success of this initiative has led to the definitive incorporation of sub-contracting as a part of MATELEC, with this segment once again receiving the support of the Madrid Chamber of Trade and Industry and the Association of Metal Businessmen of Madrid, AECIM. MATELEC´s special layout, based around the various halls that make up the IFEMA fairground, is one of the fair´s main characteristics and is clearly aimed at facilitating the attendance of trade professionals. In this respect, MATELEC 2006 will offer a wide-ranging overview of this industry, which will be complemented by an analysis of the current situation through the staging of a Specialized Conference Programme, which is already being prepared. Thanks to the strong interest of the conferences themselves and the considerable stature of the speakers, this Programme will constitute one of the main added-value aspects of the fair. The timetable for the thirteenth edition of the International Electrical and Electronic Material Exhibition, MATELEC 2006, an event aimed exclusively at members of the trade, will be from 9.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. throughout the duration of the fair (24th to 27th October), except for the last day of the event (28th October), when the fair will close at 3.00 p.m.
