The MOTORTEC Organising Committee adopts a series of important agreements for the 2009 edition MOTORTEC has brought forward its dates to march in line with demand and the industry's commercial interests

At its meeting held to review the results of the fair's year 2007 edition, the Organising Committee of the International Equipment and Components for Vehicles Trade Show, MOTORTEC, adopted a series of important agreements, among which we might highlight its decision to bring forward the date on which the fair takes place to March. The purpose of this change is to cater for the industry's needs and demands.

This decision, which is the result of a request lodged by the exhibiting companies themselves, will have a direct effect on the industry's commercial interests, as well as its marketing strategies, taking advantage of MOTORTEC's new positioning on the international calendar and its distancing from the other leading events devoted to the industry.

Another important decision adopted by the fair's Organising Committee is the elimination of Sunday, also in response to a general request from the industry. In this respect, the fair will commence on Tuesday and conclude on Saturday. Nevertheless, the fair will extend its schedule until eight o'clock each day, which will enable the workshops from Madrid (around 6,000 in all) to attend the fair and visit the exhibition once their working day is over.

As a consequence of the fact that the dates of the fair have been brought forward, IFEMA has had to make almost a dozen changes to the dates of its other fairs that take place during the same month, which happens to be one of the busiest in the fair calendar. With these changes, the Madrid Trade Fair Institution has given absolute priority to MOTORTEC, an event of particular importance and significance, placing the interests of this grand industry before those of other sectors and evaluating the impact of this service on its marketing policies.

With this first series of changes, MOTORTEC is beginning a new stage in its development, one that will coincide with its tenth edition in the year 2009. At its tenth edition the fair will undertake numerous initiatives that are designed to strengthen the fair's position as a leading point of reference on the Iberian Peninsula and one of the most outstanding trade events on the international scene.
